Amazing Race

The Amazing Race takes place early on in the competition. Participants will be allocated into mixed teams who will embark on a quest across Auckland City in a challenge of skill, creativity, and agility. More information will be provided during the competition – we are excited to see you all soon!

Auckland Adventures

In 2020, participants and advisors will be spoiled for choice! Choose to enjoy stunning views of Auckland from the iconic Sky Tower or from the top of the Auckland Harbour Bridge. For all the thrill seekers out there, we have provided the option of taking a bungy jump off the Harbour Bridge, or a leap of faith off the Sky Tower observation deck!

We are certain this taste of Auckland will make the Champions Trophy Case Competition 2020 an unforgettable experience.

Each participant and advisor will be able to choose one of the following activities:

  • Harbour Bridge Bungy Jump
New Zealanders are extremely proud of AJ Hackett, who commercialised bungy jumping in 1996. This is a true showcase of Kiwi spirit, and for the thrill seekers, is not to be missed. For those of you who choose this option, you will be taken up the Harbour Bridge, have a rope tied around your ankles and plummet 40 metres towards the water. You can even opt for a refreshing dip in the ocean at the bottom!
  • Harbour Bridge Climb
Enjoy a 1.5-hour sightseeing tour from the iconic Auckland Harbour Bridge. The guided tour will share the Bridge’s history and architectural features as well as observing a 360-degree view of Auckland from the summit. You may even be able to catch a glance of the bungy jumpers!
  • Sky Tower Visit
At 328 metres, the Sky Tower is the tallest man-made structure in New Zealand and offers breathtaking views for up to 80 kilometres in every direction. Enjoy the 360-degree view of Auckland from the 220m high Sky Deck, and relax with a coffee and light refreshments.
  • Sky Tower Jump
Is climbing the tallest building in the country not exciting enough for you? This activity involves a tethered jump from the top of the Sky Tower once you’ve taken in the panoramic view, for those seeking a thrill. What goes up, must come down…

Bowls Night

Lawn Bowls (paired with a few quiet drinks) is the perfect activity to help you unwind after a long day of social events. Bowls is a great summer sport and has grown in popularity among young people in New Zealand. The objective is to roll biased balls so that they stop close to a smaller ball called a “jack” or “kitty”, and is played on a flat green. Easy enough?

On Bowls Night, participants and advisors are invited to mix and mingle over food and drinks, and enjoy a relaxing Kiwi summer evening playing lawn bowls.

Beach Day

It’s not a Kiwi summer without a day at the beach! Experience Auckland’s hidden slice of paradise, Waiheke Island, located a short 45 minute cruise away from downtown. The Island is famous for its wineries and boasts sandy beaches, clear cool water and great stretches of grass where you will enjoy Kiwi staples such as fish & chips, wine tasting, and more. Don’t forget to pack your swimming gear to ensure that you can enjoy the water… and please, please, remember your sunblock!
